Inspired by the huge success (financially at least) of their TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, and erm, MY LITTLE PONY franchises, toy makers turned movie moguls Hasbro continue to mine their back catalogue of product to bring us adaptations that nobody really wanted, but most of us will end up paying to see.

Today, Hasbro has revealed their post-BATTLESHIP plans with the announcement that their next movie will be based on, of all things, Stretch Armstrong.

Quite how this will work as a movie is anyone’s guess, a head-scratcher Universal Studios faced a few years back when they tried to get it made with The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl star Taylor Lautner in the lead. (Yeah, we know he’s probably better known for getting shirtless in a certain vampire franchise, but the less we mention the ‘T’ word in these pages the better).

The movie is set for a 2014 release.

Can’t wait.
