Hammer’s upcoming sequel to its 2012 smash-hit THE WOMAN IN BLACK has found its leads in the form of Jeremy Irvine (WAR HORSE) and Phoebe Fox (BLACK MIRROR episode THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF YOU). Subtitled (rather hokily) ANGEL OF DEATH, the film will catch up with the vengeful ghost four decades later, after the government has taken over her old haunt to house evacuees in the wake of World War II, the arrival of the children stirring the spirit once again.

Making his feature film directorial debut is Tom Harper (MISFITS), who will shoot from a script by new screenwriter Jon Croker. ANGEL OF DEATH’s story was conceived by Susan Hill, creator of the original novel first published in 1983.

There’s currently no further news on that early rumour Daniel Radcliffe will return in a cameo. Depending on your opinion on the former boy wizard, more than a few of you are probably hoping that doesn’t change.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH will hit cinemas in 2014.
