The poster for this cheeky remake of Sam Raimi’s seminal horror flick Evil Dead carries the tagline: “The Most Terrifying Film You Will Ever Experience”. A bold statement indeed. Especially considering those seven words take up the majority of the one-sheet itself. Could a movie ever deliver on that kind of promise? No, of course it couldn’t. But one thing’s for sure, these guys aren’t messing around – this thing looks like it’s going to put the audience through a hell unlike anything we’ve since, well, the original. We honestly can’t remember seeing a trailer as intense as that first teaser last October, and having just watched this excellent second promo (NSFW naturally), we’re going to go out on a limb – Evil Dead (2013) is going to be the ultimate in grueling terror!!! Now there’s a tagline! (Wonder if anyone’s ever used that?)

Great, right? Almost makes us forgive them for dashing our hopes of ever seeing Ash again. Almost.

Synopsis:

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
