The Man With The Iron Fists

The story goes that when Quentin Tarantino was introduced to hip-hop star RZA (of The Wu-Tang Clan) who had expressed interest in producing the soundtrack for KILL BILL, the director was skeptical to say the least. What did this cheeky upstart know about the genre besides his liberal pilfering of soundbites from SHOGUN ASSASSIN for use in his rap tracks? Turns out, a lot. And with QT royally schooled by RZA’s knowledge of classic Kung Fu flicks, the gig was his and a relationship was born. Tarantino then took the music genius but filmmaking newbie under his wing, and 9 years on we are finally about to see what the apprentice has learnt from shadowing his master, with his debut film THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS now complete.

Produced by Quentin Tarantino with a script by horror maestro Eli Roth and the RZA himself, what we have here is a love-letter to the genre, a movie that looks chock-full of adventure, a kick-ass soundtrack (natch) and an unlikely star turn by Russell Crowe of all people. Check out the newly released trailer below and let’s all do a silent prayer that this doesn’t turn out to be another NINJA ASSASSIN…
