Despite producing over six flicks and co-writing two, it’s been a full five years since horror guru (or ‘gore-ru’, if you will) Eli Roth sat in the director’s chair. 2013 sees the release of his long-awaited fourth film as writer/director with THE GREEN INFERNO, a homage to the Cannibal exploitation pictures of the ‘80s. To tide us over until the first trailer hits, Shock Till You Drop have debuted the first still official still from the movie which you can see below. (Anybody get the impression it’s not going to turn out so well for her?)

THE GREEN INFERNO was penned by Roth and his fellow AFTERSHOCK writer Guillermo Amoedo, and tells the tale of a group of students falling foul of a tribe of cannibals in the jungles of Peru following a plane crash. If HOSTEL saw people cancelling their backpacking trips to Slovakia, it’s probably best if the Peru tourist board get ready for some serious damage control!

Expect THE GREEN INFERNO to hit cinemas later this year.
