For the first time in almost a decade a Pixar film will be conspicuous by its absence next year.

Pixar’s THE GOOD DINOSAUR was scheduled to be released 30th May 2014, but Disney decided to push the film back almost eighteen months to 25th November 2015. MALEFICENT, Disney’s tale of Sleeping Beauty as told from the villainess’ point of view, will now open in THE GOOD DINOSAUR’s place.

The studio also bumped Pixar’s FINDING DORA from 25th November 2015 — now occupied by THE GOOD DINOSAUR — to 17th June 2016.

Pixar have continually bolstered Disney’s annual box office earnings year on year, but with Marvel’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY joining MALEFICENT in 2014 I don’t think they have too much to be concerned about.
