Sure, it might not be sci-fi, horror, OR fantasy, but here at Starburst we feel we have the obligation to also cover the odd bit of Cult TV – in this case, the 1981-1986 series THE FALL GUY.

The show starred THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN himself, Lee Majors, and chronicled the weekly adventures of the impossibly monikered Colt Seavers – a stuntman/bounty hunter (but to be brutally honest all I can remember is a pretty badass themetune, and something about a tin-bath and a cigar).

Well, Dreamworks seems to think there’s life in the 25 year old property yet, and have announced they’re going ahead with a feature film version to be produced by Walter Parkes (GLADIATOR), written by X-MEN: FIRST CLASS scribes Ashley Miller & Zack Stentz, and directed by Martin Campbell (GREEN LANTERN).

Will it strike a cord with audiences whose parents might not have even been alive when the original was airing? We shall see. All we know is that original creator Glen A. Larson must be laughing all the way to the bank, what with this AND that ridiculous BATTLESTAR GALACTICA re-reboot he must be raking it in! Here’s hoping MAGNUM P.I. isn’t too far behind.

As a treat, let’s all take a look at those iconic opening credits (because I need to get to the bottom of this repressed tin-bath/cigar memory)…

Ok. I’m more than a little puzzled as to why I remembered a bloke in a bubblebath so vividly and NOT Heather Thomas’s gratuitous bikini-clad entrance. Odd.

Will a remake work? Was the show actually any good? Or was the themetune all it had going for it? Share your thoughts in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag
