We’ve been banging on about Drafthouse Films’ hugely ambitious horror anthology since our relaunch all the way back in May, and for good reason too – take a look at the fantastic directing talent they’ve somehow managed to pull together, each contributing a grisly short dedicated to a letter of the alphabet…

Banjong Pisanthanakun (Shutter), Angela Bettis (Roman), Adrian Garcia Bogliano (Cold Sweat), Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun), Ernesto Diaz Espinoza (Mirageman), Bruno Forzani and Héléne Cattet (Amer), Gadi Harel (DeadGirl), Thomas Malling (Norwegian Ninja), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), Simon Rumley (Red, White and Blue), Tak Sakaguchi and Yuji Shimomura (Yakuza Weapon), Marcel Sarmiento (DeadGirl), Srdjan Spasojevic (A Serbian Film), Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre), Andrew Traucki (Black Water), Nacho Vigalando (TimeCrimes), Jake West (Evil Aliens), Ti West (The House of the Devil), Ben Wheatley (Kill List), and Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way To Die).

If that wasn’t cool enough, they also put out the call to aspiring filmmakers around the world, allowing them to submit their own short dedicated to the missing 26th letter ‘T’.

After an exhaustive search, Drafthouse have now announced the winner, and having now watched the short T IS FOR TOILET, we’re sure you’ll agree that UK based filmmaker Lee Hardcastle deserves all the success in the world – it’s bloody awesome! Check out the entire short below, and join us in anticipation of what could very well be the horror film event of 2012…

“Call. The plumber. Now.” Genius!

THE ABC’S OF DEATH has no fixed release date, but we’ll let you know as soon as. In the meantime, if you want to check out the other entrant’s movies, head to the official site here.
