It’s been rumoured that we may see Wonder Woman appear in the MAN OF STEEL sequel in some capacity, and it seems that we’re finally going to get the long-planned JUSTICE LEAGUE movie at some point in the next few years… meaning the Wonder Woman character is a must. Whether she’ll appear in MAN OF STEEL 2/BATMAN VS SUPERMAN/SUPERMAN VS BATMAN remains to be seen. Either way, Variety is reporting that three actresses have already tested for a lead female role in Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL sequel. It’s claimed that the role in question is that of either a love interest for Bruce Wayne or… the Amazonian herself, Wonder Woman. Dun, dun, dun dun!

As for the actresses who’ve tested for the role, the names in the frame are FAST AND FURIOUS’ Gal Gadot, QUANTUM OF SOLACE’s Olga Kurylenko, and G.I. JOE: RETALIATION’s Elodie Young. There’s also talk that a fourth actress has read for the role, with that presumed to be THOR’s Lady Sif, Jaimie Alexander, although it’s thought that her Marvel obligations are proving problematic. Whilst it’s not known whether the role actually is that of Wonder Woman, the description of the character is “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic.” That definitely fits the Diana bill.

The same Variety report also claims that there are apparently plans in place to have certain Justice League members appear in the MAN OF STEEL sequel, with Wonder Woman and The Flash being bandied about to make cameos. Added to this, ARROW’s Stephen Amell set tongues wagging this week by posting a Justice League picture to his Facebook page.

So, whilst we won’t be getting a Justice League movie for a while, it does appear that DC are looking into the idea of sewing the seeds of the group as early as 2015′s MAN OF STEEL sequel.
