Hands up who went to see JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3D back in 2008? Come on, there must be a few of you – it made over a $100m at the box office after all. Well, I’m not ashamed to admit I ponied up for a ticket (it was back in the days when this 3D bollocks was still a novelty) and equally un-embarressed that I actually quite enjoyed it (it was back in the days when Brendan Frasier was still a novelty).

There’s no sign of Frasier this time around, but we do have a returning Josh Hutchinson (whose star is about to go supernova when THE HUNGER GAMES opens in March). We also get Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson taking a break from shooting people in the face to do his family friendly bit, Michael Caine doing Michael Caine, Vanessa Hudgens (something called HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL), and Luis Guzman (CALITO’S WAY) to make up for Frasier’s absence. 

JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND 3D opens in the UK February 10th.
