With more and more details becoming known about J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, Ray Park is the latest name to throw his name into the mix for a return. Park played the furiously badass Darth Maul in STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENANCE.

Speaking to MTV about his thoughts on a possible return, Park said, “Just give me food and water, and I’m there.”

I’m pretty sure that should be food, water and a sewing kit, seeing as how the character was last seen sliced into two by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber! That said, Maul did return in Season 4 of THE CLONES WARS, complete with robo-legs (see below), so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Abrams could incorporate that into the cinematic canon.

During the interview, Park was also asked about whether he ever had a chance of returning as Toad for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Park said, “I went and saw Patrick Stewart, because I love him and respect him a lot. He was saying he just got back from shooting X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. I said, ‘Ah damn, you already filmed it so there’s no way I’m going to be in it.”

Again, another same on that front, although there’s plenty of other characters lined up for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

At present, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is set for a summer 2015 release, whilst X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is on course for a 23rd May, 2014 release.
