Hot on the heels of the recently released two new clips from STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS come these tantalising character posters for the stars of J.J. Abrams’ latest. Notable exceptions are Simon Pegg’s Scotty and Anton Yelchin’s Chekov but we can only hope this doesn’t mean that things are not looking hopeful for their survival chances in the film.

The posters hint at the action-oriented events of the STAR TREK reboot sequel with many characters in battle-ready poses, brandishing phasers that are pointed at the ready. Both Alice Eve and Zoe Saldana appear to be getting in on the action and Spock seems more cautious as opposed to Kirk’s good old more gung-ho approach.

The Sydney premiere has already taken place and early word from reviews is very positive. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS will undoubtedly be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year with one of the brilliant ensemble of J.J. Abrams’ reboot being joined by Benedict Cumberbatch on villain duties. The character poster for Cumberbatch’s John Harrison sees him staring menacingly at us from over an extra large collar and managing the task of looking both sinister and dashing all at the same time.

Harrsion will no doubt be causing all sorts of problems for the other characters, Starfleet and even Earth itself as a terrorist with a deadly scheme up his sleeve. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS OPENS on 9th May in the UK, a whole week earlier than the 16th May opening for America!

Synopsis:

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS opens May 9th in the UK, and May 17th in the US.
