Jamie Foxx is set to star as Electro in Marc Webb’s upcoming THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, but that might not be the only comic book role we see the actor take on. Speaking to Movies.com, Foxx was asked what his dream roles would be.

The actor replied, “Spawn is one, yeah. And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them!”

Created by Todd McFarlane, Spawn got his own feature film in 1997. Whilst not the greatest of films, SPAWN was one of the first of the wave of comic book films that we’re still seeing to this day. The film took a modest $90 million from a $40 million budget.

According to McFarlane, he’s been approached by several big studios for a SPAWN reboot, but he’s looking at making a low-cost, dark and gritty film. Back in February, he revealed that he’s currently working on the script for a possible film and that he had been contacted by an Oscar-winning actor about the lead role. Many presumed that the actor in question was Cuba Gooding Jr., but these latest developments suggest that it may have been Jamie Foxx.

Expect more on this as it develops.
