It has been announced that actor Ben Whishaw will be playing gadget master Q in Sam Mendes’ SKYFALL.

At 31 years old, he’ll be the youngest actor to tackle the role made famous by the late, great Desmond Lewellyn.

Whishaw states that he’ll play the role very different and more serious in keeping with the tone of the new Bond films.

Past films of his include playing Bob Dylan in I’M NOT THERE (2007), Sebastian Flyte in the remake of BRIDESHEAD REVISITED (2008), the romantic poet John Keats in Jane Campion’s biopic, BRIGHT STAR and Richard III in the upcoming 2012 BBC version.

SKYFALL hits cinemas October 26th 2012.

Is Whishaw the best actor to play Major Boothroyd or is he too young? Who would you choose? Share your thoughts in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag
