Six Million Dollar Man

The closest we’ve come to a modern reboot of the classic TV series THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN is 1999’s so-bad-it’s-bad INSPECTOR GADGET or this year’s better-than-you-thought ROBOCOP. A reboot has been in the pipeline since the mid-90s, but it looks as though some progress has been made.

The Tracking Board has reported that Mark Wahlberg is attached to the film, which is being developed by Universal Pictures. Wahlberg, who’s no stranger to sci-fi, is currently holding the top spot in the US box office with the latest instalment in the Transformers franchise.

Peter Berg, who directed Wahlberg in the ‘true-story’ LONE SURVIVOR, is on board as producer, though he’s tipped to direct. For those unfamiliar with the source material, it tells the story of Steve Austin (no, not Stone Cold) who is rebuilt with state-of-the-art technology following a fatal plane crash.

As always, more details as they develop.
