The awesome Emily Booth is taking some time out from educating us on the weird and wonderful to produce her first film. The short, SELKIE, tells the salty tale of a sea creature (Booth herself) taken captive by a cruel fisherman, and it needs your help. Head over to Kickstarter to get the full details on the project and check out the funding packages which range from as little as a fiver.

Synopsis:

Selkie is a dark, adult fairytale, set in the distant past, based on an ancient Celtic myth, telling the story of a beautiful sea creature who finds herself enslaved to a drunken fisherman when he finds her shedded skin on the beach. Refusing to return her skin to her, the Selkie law of nature means she is now bound to him as his ‘land wife’ unable to return to her true form, and to the sea. Until one day, many years later, she exacts her revenge and finally is able to transform back into her true form.
