With WWE Studios and Lionsgate recently completing shooting on LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS, the duo have announced that they will be moving forward with SEE NO EVIL 2, a sequel to their 2006 film. The original film featured Glenn Jacobs, aka WWE Superstar Kane, as Jacob Goodnight, a tortured soul that took great pleasure in the killing of a group of teens. The sequel will be directed by AMERICAN MARY’s twin sister pairing of Jen and Sylvia Soska, with a script from Nathan Brookes and Lee Darby. 

In terms of how Goodnight will return from the grave, you know that all rules go out of the window with horror films, right? Well, Jacob will rise from the dead in the city’s morgue, then go on the hunt after a group of medical students. Expect chokeslams, powerslams and elbow drops aplenty. It’s currently unconfirmed if a steel chair will be brought into play.

There’s also been official press releases from both WWE Studios and Lionsgate.

We are equally excited to work with the Soska Sisters, who will apply their truly unique filmmaking style to SEE NO EVIL 2.”

Lionsgate have had their say, with Co-Chief Operating Offier and Motion Picture Group President Steve Beeks saying, “The WWE team has proven success in building strong global brands and have proven to be a great partner in our past ventures together. We are thrilled to expand the partnership in the development and marketing of genre features that marry WWE’s stars with our own global distribution expertise.”

The pairing of WWE Studios and Lionsgate have previously worked together on SEE NO EVIL, THE CONDEMNED and LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS.
