AMERICAN MARY star Tristan Risk is the latest name signed up for Canadian horror film, SAVE YOURSELF, filming this summer.

Directed by Ryan M. Andrews, the cast already includes Jessica Cameron (TRUTH OR DARE), Ry Barrett (THE DEMOLISHER), TIANNA NORI (CLEAN BREAK) and Sydney Kondruss (THE DROWNSMAN).

Ms Risk’s profile in the genre has been increasing over the past year or since the release of the Soska Twin’s AMERICAN MARY. Largely due to high-profile convention appearances, an acclaimed role in Jill Sixx Gervargizian’s debut short, CALL GIRL (see STARBURST #402 for more on this), alongside Laurence R. Harvey (THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 & 3) and the Canadian grindhouse company, Astron 6’s THE EDITOR. About SAVE YOURSELF, she said, “I’m so thrilled to be doing this since it’s got some great traditional horror elements with girls road tripping and running afoul some folks of a deviant nature, but also because of its other qualities. I think this will surprise quite a few people and continue a proud tradition with Canadian Genre.“

Adding to the already glamorous cast of Canadians is Bobbie Phillips (SHOWGIRLS, THE X-FILES, Wes Craven’s CARNIVAL OF SOULS), Caleigh LeGrand (LATE NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE) and Bea Santos (ANTISOCIAL).

Michael Jari Davidson (BERKSHIRE COUNTY, THE LAST HALLOWEEN, SICK) is on board as cinematographer, with Andrews stating, “Mr Davidson shares the same love and passion that I have for this genre. His skills are beyond reproach and his style compliments me perfectly.“
