With Colin Trevorrow currently working on JURASSIC WORLD, it was presumed that a few old faces would return for the fourth installment in the JURASSIC PARK franchise. One of said faces was Sam Neill, the series’ Dr. Alan Grant, but the actor has now confirmed that he will not be returning for Trevorrow’s film.

Speaking to The Examiner, Neill said, “I’m sure it’s going to be great, but they don’t need me. I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great. As I said, I’d never say ‘no,’ but I wish them well.”

Indeed there is a new cast, one that is currently made up of Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan. As for Neill, it seems that he’s at least leaving the door open for a possible return down the line.

Directed by Trevorrow and produced by Steven Spielberg, JURASSIC WORLD is currently targeting a 12 June, 2015 release.
