It’s been threatened in the past, but looks like the POLTERGEIST remake might actually be happening this time.

Speaking with the guys over at BloodyDisgusting.com from the set of horror flick 7500 (read about that little gem here), producer Roy Lee revealed “The one that I’m most excited about updating is the ‘Poltergeist’ reboot. That is probably something that somebody, hopefully next year, will be able to accomplish”.

The reason for the previous delay lies with the project’s home MGM, who bafflingly managed to go bust a few years back. It’s only in the past year that they’ve been able to borrow a few quid and make their return, putting a lot of the then in-development movies back into production, most notably Bond 23, SKYFALL.

As for Lee, well he’s also the brains behind not only the upcoming OLDBOY remake, but also the proposed CREEPSHOW reboot too, so we don’t predict he’s going to be such a popular chap with you guys.

We’ll have more on this as it drops…

Should POLTERGEIST be remade? After all, 3 was rubbish, wasn’t it. And 2 isn’t really that well liked. Apart from that creepy old man. And the bit where Coach pukes up a bloke. Is it such a crime? Share your thoughts in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag
