Good news for those of you chomping at the bit to find out what happens to Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender’s head at the end of PROMETHEUS, the sequel inched closer to being a reality today. Twentieth Century Fox have let slip that, after a long search, writer Jack Paglen is close to landing the job of penning the project, once referred to as PARADISE. Paglen, though relatively new to the scene, is already versed in the worlds of science fiction, having just provided the screenplay for acclaimed cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, TRANSCENDENCE.

If negotiations prove successful (and there’s really no reason to see why they wouldn’t be – writer’s gotta eat!), then Paglen will follow Jon Spaihts & Damon Lindelof, who got a fair amount of grief (especially the latter, unfairly) from those who were disappointed by some elements of the long awaited pseudo-prequel last summer. Ridley, on the other hand, got away Scott free, but it’s still up in the air whether he’ll actually step in to helm the second (and hopefully third) entry.

We’ll have more on PROMETHEUS 2 as it develops…
