Gil Kenan’s POLTERGEIST remake has added two more names to its cast. The new faces are TOUCH’s Saxon Sharbino and HUNG’s Jane Adams. The pair will join Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris on the remake of Tobe Hooper’s iconic film.

The official word on the film reads:

“In a revisionist take on the classic horror film, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challengers them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.”

Kenan’s POLTERGEIST is currently filming, with shooting having started on 23rd September. In terms of a release date, we’re currently awaiting specifics, but it’s expected that the remake will target a cinema release towards the middle of 2014.
