With Rosemarie DeWitt recently confirmed as the female lead, The Wrap is reporting that Sam Rockwell is in talks to join the POLTERGEIST remake. If Rockwell does join the film, he’ll take on the role played by Craig T. Nelson in Tobe Hooper’s original 1982 film.

The remake will be directed by Gil Kenan (MONSTER HOUSE), with a scipt from Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire (OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL). Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are also involved in a producing capacity for Ghost House Pictures.

Very little is known about the project as of yet (other than it being a totally needless remake), although it’s thought that production will start towards the end of the year.

Expect to hear more on this as it develops.
