Once planned as a straight to home video quicky, Disney pulled a TOY STORY 2 on this largely unwanted CARS spin-off movie and granted it a theatrical release. No, we’re not sure why either. Oh yeah! That was it. 

In all seriousness, the Disney/Pixar franchise has a huge fanbase, it’s just that we weren’t used to the studio forgoing their usual cross-demographic approach to target younglings only. It seemed a waste of their considerable talent. That said, the property is now fully in the hands of Disney, so we can’t rightly contine to blame Pixar for the misstep.

For those of you reading who have kids, this is what you’ll be taking them to see in cinemas this August. And buying them the themed Happy Meal on the way home. Oh, and then there’s Christmas just around the corner… Wallets at the ready, folks!
