“But Starburst, I read this on days ago, why you just reporting it now, yo?” – well dear reader, whoever you are, that’s because a) Paramount had yet to officially come clean and make an announcement, and b) we simply thought it was a load of ol’ bollocks, because, quite frankly, we didn’t for a second think that the mighty talent that is J.J. Abrams could come up with such a bloody awful title.

And so, forever more, the second film in his rebooted STAR TREK film franchise will be known as…

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

Oh dear. While the moniker certainly teases a much moodier plotline this time around, it reads terribly and let’s face it, doesn’t make a lick of sense. If they’d have banged a traditional colon in there we’d have been much happier, but as it stands it’s a clunker. Even the Enterprise crew are baffled by it, look at ’em! . . .

STID opens in UK cinemas May 17th 2013. Ropey title aside, we can’t wait!

But what do you think of the title? Are we overreacting? Let us know in the Comments below or on Twitter @STARBURST_MAG
