Over in France at the moment the Cannes Film Festival is taking place, with the world’s top filmmakers gathered to unveil their latest masterpieces.

Frankly though, the lot of them can sod off, because all of their films are missing one vital thing: giant monsters vs giant robots. Fortunately PACIFIC RIM has these in abundance, which automatically makes it better than anything at Cannes, and the new trailer, which has just landed has more monster/robot action than you can shake a very large stick at.

For the uninitiated (and if you are, you’re really reading the wrong magazine), the film sees Earth threatened by the rather large, nasty Kaiju, who emerge from the Pacific to wreak havoc on humanity. Humanity, understandably none too happy with this, fights back by building giant robots. Here’s the newly released trailer…
