In the wake of the recent PACIFIC RIM trailer straight out of WonderCon (re-posted below) comes this new poster showing more of the epic scale of Guillermo del Toro’s latest. The monster mash in this poster shows giant Jaeger robot meet giant Kaiju monster with only their relatively small Sydney Harbour Bridge standing between them.

Considering the size of the huge harbour spanning bridge in Australia’s beautiful city, these fighters appear truly monstrous in their spectacular size, managing to dwarf the bridge and crush it with their bare hands.

Everything about this epic poster screams size does matter from the tagline, ‘To Fight Monsters, We Created Monsters’ to the city demolishing combatants. If director Guillermo del Toro gets this right which all signs are looking positive towards, then Michael Bay will be quaking in his transforming boots.

The jaw dropping trailer and this poster have come in quick succession and will no doubt be making not only Bay feel inadequate but also Gareth Edwards, the man in charge of the upcoming GODZILLA remake.

The monsters in PACIFIC RIM look bigger, meaner and more dedicated to destruction than anything ever seen and for once, us pesky humans have come up with a suitably epic way to fight back. Expect Sydney to take a beating on July 12th when PACIFIC RIM is released and pray that the fight back spares some of our major cities from the monster apocalypse.
