If our recent review of Ramez Naam’s sci-fi novel NEXUS, we recommended the tale of nano-technology aided artificial telepathy to fans of THE MATRIX and STRANGE DAYS. Paramount Pictures clearly see it appealing to mainstream moviegoers also, and have acquired the property for a big-screen adaptation, with Ari Handel & Mark Heyman in talks to pen the script. Both writers are regular colloborators with acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, who will produce under his Protozoa outfit.
If you haven’t read the book, check out our review here, or read the official synopsis below:
“In the near future, the experimental nano-drug Nexus can link human together, mind to mind. There are some who want to improve it. There are some who want to eradicate it. And there are others who just want to exploit it.
When a young scientist is caught improving Nexus, he’s thrust over his head into a world of danger and international espionage – for there is far more at stake than anyone realizes.”
We’ll have more news on NEXUS as it develops…
