With seemingly everyone in Hollywood and beyond having had some form of talks with J.J. Abrams to join the STAR WARS saga, now comes word on several new names that have had recent talks with the director.

From various sources, it’s been reported that 12 YEARS A SLAVE’s Oscar-winning Lupita Nyong’o, ATTACK THE BLOCK’s John Boyega, DOWNTON ABBEY’s Ed Speleers and theatre actors Ray Fisher and Matthew James have been in for discussions with Abrams. It’s also still being reported that BREAKING BAD’s Jesse Plemons is firmly in the frame for a pivotal role, as is GIRLS’ Adam Driver, who’s said to be in line for one of the lead villain roles.

Written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, EPISODE VII will apparently see the return of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia, respectively. The older cast will then serve as a bridge to a new generation of characters that will take centre-stage in the rest of Abrams’ trilogy.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is currently scheduled for an 18th December, 2015 release.
