When Disney purchased Lucasfilm, all of the attention was on a certain STAR WARS franchise. Waiting in the background, minding his own business, we had a stubble-adorned, fedora-wearing adventurer that was nearly forgotten about. Well, Disney have now announced an agreement with Paramount Pictures that will see them have the rights to market and distribute any future INDIANA JONES films.

As part of the deal, Disney also retain their ownership rights to the character, which were acquired during the Lucasfilm purchase. Paramount will continue to be responsible for the marketing of the previous four INDIANA JONES movies, whilst they will also receive a percentage of the money brought in from any future Indy releases.

In terms of another outing for the character, George Lucas previously claimed that a story was already in place for a fifth film but that there was still an issue over just what Dr. Jones was searching for this time out.

After the whole ‘CRYSTAL SKULL’ affair, how eager are you to see Indy return?
