Here’s the newly released first clip from Peter Berg’s BATTLESHIP, featuring a look at the alien enemy’s bizarre, though admittedly nifty, weaponry (apparently nicknamed ‘Shredders’ here). Though we’ve long accepted that this bears little in the way of relation to the original board game on which it’s based (calling into question why they’d saddle it with such a bland title in the first place), there’s a lot of us here that are very intrigued to see whether this alien invasion flick has got what it takes to rise above its limitations.

BATTLESHIP arrives in UK cinemas April 11th, May 18th in the US.
