Following on from yesterday’s surprise announcement that Michael Douglas will be playing Hank Pym in Edgar Wright’s ANT-MAN, the veteran actor has been speaking to Reuters about what attracted him to the film.

The legendary cunning-linguist revealed, “I’ve been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long. The script is really good. Dylan will love it. He’ll have a picture he can see.”

Douglas then added that he likes to surprise studios and audiences, saying, “Sometimes – like when they didn’t see you for Liberace – you’ve got to shake them up a little bit and have some fun.”

I’m sure if Douglas gets his way, the ‘fun’ he mentions will be dry-humping the leg of Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow.

ANT-MAN will open Marvel’s Phase Three of films on 31st July, 2015.
