Earlier this week, Felicity Jones confirmed that she’ll be playing a villain Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-Man 2. She refused to be drawn on exactly who she’ll be playing, simply saying, “I’m the Goblin’s girlfriend – I’m in a relationship with him, and his accomplice.”

To follow up on this, CinemaBlend managed to ask Webb about Jones’ role in the film. He didn’t say much, but he confirmed that her character has a “special relationship” with Norman Osborn. So, just to clear up any confusion on which Osborn would be taking on the Green Goblin mantle in this film, this all points to the traditional Goblin of Norman Osborn, rather than his son Harry. According to earlier reports, the Green Goblin is set to appear towards the end of the upcoming sequel.

The Spidey sequel will see Peter Parker looking to juggle his high school graduation, his affection for Gwen Stacy and his promise to her father that he will stay away from her, and the small matter of a couple of supervillains – namely Electro and Rhino.

Andrew Garfield returns as Pater Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben. Joining them is Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. There’s also an unknown role for Sarah Gadon and Felicity Jones, with Jones, as mentioned, confirmed to be playing a villain who is tied to the Green Goblin.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is released on 18th April, 2014.
