It’s being reported by The Detroit Free Press that the size and scale of Zack Snyder’s upcoming MAN OF STEEL sequel will make the movie Detroit’s largest ever production. Let the fat cash roll in for the Motor City…

Currently in pre-production, the Batman and Superman punch-up/team-up is to start production early next year, with the majority of production taking place across the seven sound stages of Michigan Motion Picture Studios, Pontiac. There will also be various additional locations used across the state of Michigan, making it the largest production to take place in the state.

No major plot details are known for the sequel at this point, although it’s believed that an older, grizzled Batman will initially be on the hunt for the ‘alien’ menace that destroyed half of Metropolis in Snyder’s first film. Of course, the pair will eventually end up forming an alliance, presumably to take down a greater threat.

Henry Cavill is returning as Superman, whilst (just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months) Ben Affleck will be playing the Caped Crusader. In somewhat surprising news, Gal Gadot has also been cast to appear as Wonder Woman in some fashion, whilst it’s claimed that GAME OF THRONES’ Jason Momoa is in talks for a role – possibly Doomsday or the Martian Manhunter. Amy Adams also returns as Lois Lane.

Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL sequel – yes, it’s still not officially titled BATMAN VS SUPERMAN – is scheduled for a 17th July, 2015 release.
