Yesterday brought us news that Joaquin Phoenix is reportedly in talks for a big role in Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL sequel – heavily rumoured to be Lex Luthor – and today brings word, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, that the film has also added an Academy Award winning screenwriter to its ranks. Chris Terrio, best known for his work on Ben Affleck’s ARGO, has been brought in to carry out rewrites on David Goyer’s original screenplay. The movie is to go into production early next year ahead of its 2015 release.

Currently, Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL sequel has Henry Cavill returning as Superman, Ben Affleck playing Batman, Gal Gadot on board as Wonder Woman, and Amy Adams getting a return as Lois Lane. Plot details are vague at present, but it’s expected that the Caped Crusader will initially be out to bring down the alien menace of Superman. One or two scraps later, the pair will become the ‘World’s Finest’ in order to take out a greater threat. Current rumours suggest that said greater threat is rumoured to involve Lex Luthor and/or Doomsday.

As it stands, Snyder’s sequel is scheduled for a 17th July, 2015 release.
