As we all know, Superman returns to our screens this June courtesy of Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL. Details on the movie have been surprisingly sparse so far, with the trailers reportedly holding a lot back, which is a bit of a relief as they looked decidedly dreary it must be said. The folks at Entertainment Weekly have scored a few brand new shots from the film, which you can check out below, and also had an interesting chat with Warner Bros President Jeff Robinov about the possibility that MAN OF STEEL will set up the company’s equivalent of their rivals’ Marvel Cinematic Universe. (In short: yes!) Here’s the pics…

“It’s setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step,” says Jeff Robinov. “ lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world.” So can we expect any DCU cameos? Spill it Jeff! “I would love to tell you yes or no but I think it’s going to be more exciting for people to keep a beady eye out and find what they can find.”

Interesting indeed! Our anticipation just jumped up a notch! Please don’t screw this up Warner Bros. This might be your last chance at catching up with Marvel Studios…

MAN OF STEEL flies into our cinemas June 14th.
