Just how many secret agent franchises does one Hollywood star need?! If reports are to be believed, Tom Cruise needs two, and is in early negotiations to head up Warner Bros’ big-screen reboot of the cult series.

Much more concrete is the fact that Guy Ritchie (SHERLOCK HOLMES) remains in the director’s seat, havening taken over the reigns of the troubled project back in November 2011 after Stephen Soderbergh finally called it quits.

If Cruise decides to sign, then get ready for Warner Bros to light a rocket under the project’s arse, meaning THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. could conceivably join the box office scrum that will be Summer 2015.

Next up for Cruise is the sci-fi double bill of OBLIVION (April 12th) and ALL YOU NEED IS KILL (March 7th 2014), which will likely be followed up by Universal’s VAN HELSING reboot and a fifth outing for Ethan Hunt. Considering there’s also a potential JACK REACHER sequel heading our way too, it begs the question where Cruise will even find the time for U.N.C.L.E.!
