As well as a rather awesome-looking Blu-ray collection on the way for the HALLOWEEN series, a new movie is also in the pipeline. In terms of what we know about a new film, it’s believed that Scout Taylor-Compton will be reprising er role of Laurie Strode from Rob Zombie’s two HALLOWEEN movies. As for Zombie, he’s highly unlikely to be returning. Playing his cards close to his chest, producer Malek Akkad has been talking about the next entry in the series.

Speaking to Collider, Akkad said, “I can’t talk about it too much right now. It will definitely keep elements and brings in new elements. But I really want to bring it back to kind of, like, the classic – because the last one got a little dark – I want to bring it back to the classic Friday night horror film that people will really like.”

When asked about the long-rumoured HALLOWEEN 3D, which is now seemingly dead, Akkad responded, “Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier did a script. The next day after the last one came out, we were back in production for HALLOWEEN 3D. We were about two weeks from going down to Louisiana to shoot it, and for whatever reason the studio thought we were maybe moving a little bit too quickly. I disagree. I think we had a great script and a great team, and it would have been a massive hit. But right now we’re currently working on a new script for HALLOWEEN 3 so it’s all in the works right now.”

Whilst not confirmed, it’s believed that this HALLOWEEN 3 will follow the story that Zombie’s movies developed. As mentioned, though, the director isn’t expected to return, instead focussing on his mystery 31 horror project.
