Following the recent announcement that Arnold Schwarzenegger had joined the cast of MAGGIE, the long in development horror drama, comes news on which actress will play his titular daughter who’s slowly succumbing to a zombie virus…

Taking over the role previously occupied by Chloe Grace Moretz until scheduling conflicts sadly forced her to drop out, is one of her closest acting peers, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE herself, Abigail Breslin (yep, that really is her in the pic above). We haven’t seen her in some time, but we’re sure the former Superfreak is more than capable of delivering on the pathos required. Now Schwarzenegger on the other hand… hmmm.

Directed by former ad guy Henry Hobson and written by newcomer John Scott 3, MAGGIE will aim for a late 2014 release. Here’s the official logline for those not familiar:

“As a ‘walkind dead’ virus spreads across the country, a farm family helps their eldest daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a flesh-eating zombie.”
