Variety is reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger has joined the cast of zombie film MAGGIE. The film first came to public attention last year, when the script was praised as being something special to keep an eye on.

In terms of plot, the official synopsis reads, “As a ‘walkind dead’ virus spreads across the country, a farm family helps their eldest daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a flesh-eating zombie.”

The film has Henry Hobson attached to direct, with the likes of Chloe Moretz (as the titular Maggie) and Paddy Considine (as her father) rumoured to be in various stages of negotiations for the film.

MAGGIE is set to start shooting later this year.
