With the recent announcement of a whole host of names joining J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, now comes some speculation on the movie’s title and some additional casting. It goes without saying, but take all of this with a huge pinch of salt for now.

Originating on MoviePilot, it’s claimed that the full title of EPISODE VII will be STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE ORDER OF THE JEDI. A previous rumour had the film subtitled A NEW DAWN, but that speculation was shot down when it was revealed that that particular title was reserved for an upcoming novel.

Moving things along to the latest casting speculation, and we cannot emphasise how this is merely speculation at this point. It’s being claimed that Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o is soon to be announced as playing Asajj Ventress. A fan favourite from THE CLONE WARS, Ventress is a female Sith who often wields two lightsabers. Given that Nyong’o has been long-rumoured for EPISODE VII, one would assume that she’d have been part of the recent casting announcement if she was indeed joining the movie.

In addition to these rumours, some other more believable speculation suggests that Daisy Ridley’s character will be a member of the Solo family, that Max Van Sydow will voicing a character who will appear throughout this upcoming trilogy, that Luke Sykwalker will take on an Obi-Wan Kenobi-type role this time out, that Han Solo is now the High Commander of the New Republic, and that Carrie Fisher’s Leia is Queen Regent of the Republic. Interestingly, it’s also claimed that the ‘big bad’ of EPISODE VII will not be a Sith Lord.

With further announcements presumed to happen on Sunday, May 4th, expect more on these rumours as and when we get it. As mentioned, just take all of this with a huge pinch of salt at this stage.
