20th Century Fox have announced that Wolverine’s much-troubled second solo outing – still titled simply, and classily, THE WOLVERINE – has shrugged off its production woes and has locked down a release date.

So when will audiences get the chance to see if director James Mangold can make up for the abomination that was Gavin Hood’s X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE? Make a date in your calendars for July 26th, 2013, when the hairy hero will be venturing to Japan and entering into a doomed romance that brings with it no amount of trouble. Expect ninjas by the bucketload. Probably.

Still hurts that Darren Aronofsky came so close to helming this, we were looking forward to seeing how the visionary director would approach a big, summer superhero blockbuster. Then his missus Rachel Weisz went and shacked up with that Bond fella and ruined everything. Poor sod.

We’ll have more news on THE WOLVERINE as it develops. God, it couldn’t possibly be as bad as ORIGINS can it? Can it?!
