Definitely a surprising news story, but a fantastically logical one at the same time.

Radar Online is reporting that Larry David, he of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM fame, has had talks with Warner Brothers about playing a villain in Zack Snyder’s upcoming MAN OF STEEL sequel, tentatively titled BATMAN VS SUPERMAN at this point. The villain in question is none other than the magical imp from the fifth dimension – not to mention leprechaun/granddad hybrid – Mr. Mxyzptlk.

This wouldn’t be the first time that David has been linked to a superhero property, with him reportedly having had in-depth talks with Sam Raimi about joining his SPIDER-MAN franchise, apparently for the role of Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture.

Expect to be hearing a lot more on this as we get it, although this writer is personally hoping that the less times he has to type Mxyzptlk the better.

At present, the MAN OF STEEL sequel is targeted for a 17th July, 2015 release.
