Marvel big cheese Kevin Feige has been doing the IRON MAN 3 promotional rounds as of late, although EW recently quizzed him on a new Hulk film. Emanating from LatinoReview a few months ago, early rumours suggested that the next solo Hulk film would focus on the famed ‘Planet Hulk’ storyline, with Hulk’s isolation to space being set up at the end of THE AVENGERS 2. Apparently, that’s not the case.

Feige played down the stories, saying, “What are you talking about? Latino Review? It’s like Iron Man flying off to see The Guardians at the end of Iron Man 3…”

He then added, “There’s no Hulk script in the works or anything, but we are talking about it. All the Hulk energy right now is on AVENGERS 2, but Mark Ruffalo is signed up for more films. We’re excited about exploring and expanding Mark – and Bruce Banner is not in ‘Planet Hulk’ at all. The fun of Hulk is his interaction with humans.”

The ‘Planet Hulk’ story involves some of Earth’s greatest superhero brains, known as the Illuminati, decide that they have to banish Hulk to space for the greater good of the planet. The jolly green giant finds himself landing on a warrior planet, where he channels his inner Maximus in gladiatorial battle. LatinoReview’s early rumours suggested that this would be set up to lead into Marvel’s ‘Phase Three’ of films.
