The dinos are on the move.

It’s been slow-moving granted – though they are a few million years old, so give them a break – but JURASSIC PARK 4, or JURASSIC WORLD as it was recently re-christened, is a thing that definitely exists. It has a script and a cast and everything.

According to Variety, Universal Studios had been looking at Bryce Dallas Howard – most famous for her stint on THE HELP – since as early as May and now the actress has been confirmed in an as yet unconfirmed starring role.

It may be that the postponed release date, now set for June 12 2015, led to the studio returning to Howard with fresh offers. Or it may be that everything is simply being played close to the chest with a production set confidently off on the hype train. Who knows, I doubt even they do to be honest.

There’s little else concretely known right now, outside of the fact that Colin Trevorrow will direct the scaly four-quel based on a screenplay he wrote along with Derek Connolly. So if those names mean much to you…get speculating.

What is also known is that there is still one more big central role to cast. And while it’s highly unlikely that they’ll be starring roles, I will be forced to sacrifice a goat if Sam Neil and/or Jeff Goldblum don’t at least show their faces at some point. Even if it’s just an arbitrary cut to Sam Neil’s bloody devilman from EVENT HORIZON for a second.
