JURASSIC PARK fans were ecstatic at the news last Jan when Universal announced it would finally be giving us part 4 of the franchise, only to have those hopes cruelly dashed just a few months later when the studio unceremoniously pumped the brakes, postponing production indefinitely. While they haven’t released any information as to why those decisions were made, Universal have now released new promotional materials at the 2013 Licensing Expo that point to a date change – the dinosaur drama will now hit 2015, which for such an FX driven movie, seems much more realistic. Oddly, the poster doesn’t contain any reference to it being the fourth in the series, lending weight to Sam Neill’s recent comment that it will instead be a reboot, “a total re-jig”. We initially dismissed it as Neill getting the wrong end of the stick… but we must admit, this has given us cause for concern.

As far as we know, JURASSIC PARK IV (or whatever it ends up being called) will be directed by SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED’s Colin Trevorrow, but expect more concrete details soon.
