Warner Brothers have pushed back the release of the eagerly awaited JUPITER ASCENDING to February 6th 2015.

Directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski (THE MATRIX), the sci-fi epic was originally set for a Summer blockbuster slot of July 18th in the US (July 25th in the UK), with the promotional campaign already heavily in motion.

Apparently, more special effects work is required to the $150 million film with WB distribution chief Dan Fellman adding, “With the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time. A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time.

Starring Mila Kunis as Jupiter Jones, a normal, poor woman destined to inheritance which will alter the balance of the cosmos Channing Tatum as Caine, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter who arrives on Earth to track her down.

Keep up to date with developments by following the film on Facebook and Twitter, and check out the trailer below to see what you now have to wait much longer for.

Does this delay inspire confidence? Are you more than a little miffed at having to wait even longer?
