No, it’s not the sequel to Sam Mendes’ Jarhead, it’s actually a rather intriguing looking indie from newcomer Chad Crawford Kinkle. The film tells the tale of a small society of folk who covet a pit-dwelling creature. The creature will annually request a sacrifice of one of the townsfolk, and this is communicated psychically to the blind pottery maker who then crafts the titular Jug into the visage of the chosen one. When Ada (The Woman’s Lauren Ashley Carter) finds her face on the jug one year, she’s understandably less than thrilled about it, doubley so as she’s now pregnant with child. Her brother’s child, but still. Despite the town’s chilling mantra, “the pit wants what it wants”, Ada does a runner…

Hopefully Jug Face will live up to its excellent premise, but while we wait to find out you can peep the trailer below…

Jug Face premieres in the US at the Slamdance Film Festival January 23rd, and will hopefully debut on DVD/Blu-ray in the UK later this year.
