“There’s something strange, in the neighbourhood”, is a comment that certainly doesn’t apply to a Ghostbusters 3 story anymore. A film that seems to have been in development since the year dot and which has had more rumours than the horror genre has had spectres. The latest comes courtesy of Schmoes Know, who announced that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone have been offered the parts of Jeremy and Anna respectively. Who are these characters? What does this mean for the rumoured plot? Is this even legit?

Fans have been split over a Ghostbusters sequel for a while now and with the news that a third film would be bereft of Bill Murray many more have dropped off the idea. In many ways the whole alleged plot of the ghoul-busting antics being handed over more to a young fresher cast sounds like a recipe for disappointment. Although that plot might give weight to this new story of Hill and Stone’s involvement. Still, rumours persist and despite Dan Ackroyd stating to ABC News (via Screenrant), that the film could shoot early 2014, any confirmation is currently as transparent as a spectre.

They may not be afraid of no ghosts but should we all be afraid of another Ghostbusters? Or has it got to that point where you just couldn’t (s)care less. Keep an eye on Starburst for any developments in the ongoing Ghostbusters 3 rumour mill.
