snow crash

Joe “Cornballs” Cornish, one half of ace comedy due Adam & Joe, and now much in-demand fancypants Hollywood-type after knocking it out of the park with ATTACK THE BLOCK and TINTIN, has settled on his next project, and it’s one that many Starburst readers will be very interested in… As per Deadline, Cornish will adapt cult author Neal Stephenson’s celebrated cyberpunk novel SNOW CRASH for Paramount, with Spielberg’s go-to-gal Kathleen Kennedy (E.T., RAIDERS, JURASSIC PARK, you name it) overseeing as producer. That’s some serious clout right there!

For those unfamiliar, the book spins the tale of a young sword-weilding pizza delivery guy named Hiro Protagonist (brilliant) who, after the death of his mate, must utilize his mad skillz in computer hacking to stop the spread of a deadly drug known as Snow Crash. In his quest he finds himself going up against not only the mafia, but the government itself.

With a fascinating source to build from, Cornballs is on to a real winner here. Given the assured direction on display in ATB this could be something very special indeed. We’ll have more as it develops…
